Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is an exfoliating treatment which leaves your skin with a healthy glow. This treatment targets many specific requirements such as fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, sun damage, pigmentation & acne scarring. Post treatment your skin continues to improve due to increased collagen & elastin production.

The Treatment:

Dermaplaning is a gentle exfoliating treatment that removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (often called "peach fuzz"). Your therapist uses a specialized, sterile blade to gently scrape away the buildup of dull, dry skin and hair, revealing a smoother, brighter complexion underneath. This non-invasive, chemical-free treatment delivers immediate results, leaving your skin looking radiant and feeling soft. Dermaplaning also enhances the effectiveness of skincare products and promotes the natural regeneration of collagen and elastin, giving you a more youthful, glowing appearance after just one session.

After Treatment:

  • 12 hours after: Avoid heavy makeup (you can use mineral makeup as it doesn’t block the skin)

  • For 24 hours: No swimming, facial waxing or fake tan application

  • Up to 48 Hours after: No sauna, sun beds or sun exposure. No botox, collagen injections or dermal fillers.

  • For 72 Hours: Do not use any anti-ageing creams, AHA’s, glycolics, retinol or exfoliating products.

  • At all times during a course, apply SPF 15 (at least) and avoid UV exposure. Regular moisturiser applications are vital to replenish the skin and prevent it becoming dry and peeling.

How often should I dermaplane?

Dermaplaning is typically recommended every 4 to 6 weeks. This frequency aligns with your skin’s natural cell turnover cycle and ensures optimal results without over-exfoliating. Regular treatments help maintain smooth, glowing skin by consistently removing dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, preventing buildup that can dull your complexion.

Having dermaplaning at the right intervals also enhances the absorption of skincare products and helps makeup apply more smoothly. However, if you have sensitive skin or specific skin concerns, your therapist can tailor the frequency to suit your needs.
